Privacy policy
Reorder Nudge is a Shopify app that shows merchants which of their wholesale accounts are overdue to reorder, and drafts a reorder email for the merchant to review and send. It is run by Alexander Medina ("we"). This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and what happens to it. Questions go to support@reordernudge.com.
Who this covers
Merchants who install Reorder Nudge, and their wholesale buyers whose details the app reads from the merchant's Shopify store. For buyer data, the merchant decides how it is used and we process it on the merchant's behalf. The app never interacts with storefront visitors.
What the app reads from Shopify, and why
The app reads this data from the merchant's store each time the merchant opens it. Buyer names, emails and orders are not copied into our database.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Wholesale accounts: B2B company names, and customers tagged "wholesale" | To list the accounts the app tracks. |
| The buyer contact's first name, last name and email address | To address the drafted reorder email. |
| The contact's email marketing consent status | To warn the merchant before they email a buyer who has unsubscribed. |
| Orders from the last 24 months: date, total, whether cancelled, and line items (product title, variant and quantity) | To work out each account's usual reorder gap, and to list the last order with a cart link in the draft. |
| The store's name, currency and domain | To format amounts and build the cart link. |
The app does not read addresses, phone numbers or payment details.
What we store
- App sessions: the store's domain and the access token Shopify issues at install, so the app can read the data above.
- An access log: each time the account list or an account page is opened, the store, the action, the account's Shopify ID, the ID of the staff member who opened it, and the time. It exists so access to buyer data can be audited, and entries are deleted after 24 months.
Billing is handled by Shopify. We never see or store payment details.
How we use it
Only to provide the app: to work out reorder status and draft emails. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, share it with data brokers, or use it to train AI models. Reorder Nudge never sends email. The merchant reviews and sends every draft from their own email account.
Who we share it with
Shopify, which provides the data and handles billing, and our hosting provider, which runs the app and its database. We share data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
Retention and deletion
- When a merchant uninstalls the app, we delete the store's sessions right away.
- Shopify sends a request 48 hours after uninstall to erase the store's data, and we then delete everything we hold for that store, including its access log.
- When Shopify asks us to erase a buyer's data, we delete the access log entries for that buyer.
- Access log entries older than 24 months are deleted.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS and is stored in a database that is encrypted at rest, with encrypted backups. Production data is kept separate from test data. Only Alexander Medina has access to production systems, and each of those accounts uses a strong password and two-factor sign-in. If a breach exposes personal data, we tell affected merchants within 72 hours of confirming it.
Your rights
Buyers who want to see, correct or delete their data should contact the merchant they buy from. The merchant can pass the request to us through Shopify, and we act on it. Merchants can contact us at support@reordernudge.com about any data we hold for their store.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date above. For significant changes, we notify merchants who have the app installed.
